This training is for anyone considering starting a spray foam or coatings business. It is also for any painters or other contractors looking to expand their business into spray foam.

It will provide participants with a foundational understanding of spray foam rig operation, safety protocols, basic building science relevant to spray foam, and essential strategies for pricing and selling spray foam project.

Part 1: Selling Spray Foam Projects & Building Science

This initial segment equips participants with the knowledge to effectively assess, price, and sell spray foam solutions, providing a strong foundation for understanding the "why" behind the application before diving into the "how."

Building Science Essentials: We'll dive into Building Envelope Basics, explaining heat transfer and air leakage. A core focus will be on Understanding R-Value and the specific R-values of both open-cell and closed-cell spray foam, including the concept of "effective R-value."

Project Assessment Tools: Learn about different Types of Projects suitable for spray foam. This segment also introduces Basic Thermography for identifying energy inefficiencies and includes a Blower Door Demo to illustrate how air leakage is measured and quantified.

Pricing & Sales Strategies: This crucial section covers the various factors involved in Pricing a Job, from material and labor costs to overhead. We'll discuss effective strategies for selling a spray foam project, focusing on identifying customer needs, articulating the benefits of spray foam, and handling common objections.

Part 2: Spray Foam Rig Operations & Safety Fundamentals

This foundational segment ensures participants understand the critical aspects of safely operating spray foam equipment, building upon the sales and building science knowledge gained in Part 1.

Safety First: Comprehensive coverage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirator fit testing, and Chemical Handling protocols. This includes understanding MSDS/SDS, safe storage, spill procedures, and emergency response. We'll also cover the importance of ventilation and proper site preparation to ensure a safe working environment.

Equipment Overview: Learn about the various components of a spray foam rig, including the proportioner, transfer pumps, heated hoses, and spray gun. We'll cover Start-Up and Shut-Down procedures for the entire system.

Hands-On & Maintenance: This section includes a practical Spray Gun Rebuild demonstration, essential Basic Troubleshooting for common issues, and an overview of routine Rig Maintenance. Participants will engage in a Hands-On Demo to familiarize themselves with the equipment and practice fundamental Spray Techniques to achieve consistent application.
