Part 116550 is the retaining ring for the Graco Fusion AP and Fusion PC spray guns. Graco's service manual and the exploded parts diagram both call it a retaining ring, and like any retaining ring its job is to hold a component in position within the assembly.
Retaining rings are easy to distort when you prise them out. A distorted ring will not seat correctly on refit, so inspect it before reusing it. They are also very easy to ping across the workshop, so a spare in the drawer is never wasted.
Identify the ring by its position on your Graco parts drawing and order against the part number. Genuine Graco OEM part 116550.
