Spray Foam Training/Workshop (One Day - Friday July 10th, 2026)

Friday, July 10th 2026 @9am

Spray Foam Engineers, 3275 W. Alibaba Ln, Ste 508, Las Vegas NV 89118

This training is for anyone considering starting a spray foam or coatings business. It is also for any painters or other contractors looking to expand their business into spray foam.  Class size is limited to 6 people due to the high amount of hands on time.

This one-day workshop covers spray foam from the ground up: materials science, equipment operation, chemical safety, business basics, and hands-on spraying practice. It is built for people who want to learn the trade correctly, whether they are starting a spray foam business or adding spray foam to an existing operation. Lunch is included.

Morning Session: Classroom Instruction

The morning is structured classroom time covering the technical and business foundations of spray foam work.

Spray Foam Materials

  • Open-cell vs. closed-cell foam: differences in chemistry, performance, R-value, and appropriate applications

  • How two-component polyurethane chemistry works and why it matters for quality control on the job

Equipment Overview

  • Proportioner, heated hoses, transfer pumps, and spray gun: what each component does and how the system works together

  • How to set up and configure a spray foam rig

Chemical Safety

  • Safe handling procedures for spray foam chemicals

  • PPE requirements: what to wear and why

  • Reading and applying SDS/MSDS documentation

  • Ventilation requirements and site preparation before spraying

Rig Operation

  • Startup and shutdown procedures

  • Routine maintenance practices that prevent equipment failure

Troubleshooting

  • Common spray foam problems: off-ratio foam, equipment malfunctions, adhesion failures, and surface issues

  • How to diagnose problems in the field and correct them

Bidding and Selling Spray Foam Jobs

  • Pricing factors: material costs, labor, overhead, and margin

  • How to structure a bid and present pricing to customers

  • Practical selling strategies for spray foam services

Afternoon Session: Hands-On Practice

The afternoon is entirely hands-on. There is no lecture format, no watching from the sidelines.

The instructor for the hands-on portion is an active spray foam installer who runs a spray foam business and manages a crew of installers.  This is a working professional currently doing this work in the field.

  • Each attendee gets individual hands-on practice with the spray gun and equipment

  • Techniques are demonstrated first, then each attendee practices, then receives direct one-on-one feedback from the instructor

  • Instruction covers multiple spraying techniques, including pass speed, gun distance, overlap, and pattern consistency

This level of individual, practitioner-led instruction is not standard in the industry. Most spray foam training puts attendees in a group observation format with little to no individual practice time. This workshop is structured differently.
